In England, Ecclesbourne Valley Railway continues the progress on the two "lost and found" steam locomotive switchers. THe grant to remove asbestos not only came through, but in amzingly rapid order the work was finished. Here is one loco, minus cab, and a few fittings, cleaned up and ready for work.

We'll try to follow this continuing progress as it accelerates.

This appears to be one of the engines modified by Ing. L. D. Porta with a Kylchap exhaust, underfeed stoker, and overfire jets in the 1960's for Hunslet to reduce smoke emissions.

Most of the engines were of the "Austerity" 0-6-0T class, but quite a few others were modified as well. See photos of these engines here:

No number or ID is given for the engine in the first post, but it looks much like one of these.
