Post subject:  Fonda Johnstown &Gloversville steam

Some interesting views of 4-4-0s that lasted on this NY shortline into the late-1940s, long enough to pull several excursions for capital region enthusiasts. FJ&G once operated steam, electric and diesel traction. It operated into the 1980s under Walter Rich ownership, but then torn up.

No. 8 at Fonda, NY, 7/13/46:

No. 9 on an excursion for the Capital District RR Club, 10/27/46:

The latter view is in front of the railroad's big office building at Gloversville, NY, which burned in 1969 and was demolished.
