I have NO political ax to grind here, just some pix and
story about railroading albeit under wartime conditions.

That's a very nice piece about the Iraqi Railways and the folks that are trying to make things better by doing their job in spite of the difficulties and risks they face. Very similar to what railroaders in the United States faced during the Civil War-civilian railroaders running trains through active theaters.

It's a shame that we don't hear more about the current operating conditions, but understandible. Any information that we have access to could certainly be accessed by unfriendly forces.
