I don't think it was ever owned by the Green Mountain RR, but was used by the Vermont Railway for a few years before being sold. Green Mountain and the VTR are under one umbrella now, but were separate at the time.

Museum President Trier's statement that the RS-1 is "one of only five or six left in the United States" seems to me to be incorrect. I am actually not sure just how many ALCO RS-1's ARE still around, but I think it may be quite a bit more than just 5 or 6. Then again, maybe I am the one who is wrong.

How many RUTLAND loco's are left? I can only think of this and 405. I'm pretty positive the RS-3's are gone.

Well, thanks Stephen, for the thought; we have already moved an Alco RS from Michigan to Connecticut not long ago, and we have to finish "digesting" that one....
