To Dave or anyone else that might be able to answer: What happened to all the former Central of Georgia covered hoppers (I believe they were PS-2's, but not sure) that were on the Columbus & Greenville a few years ago? Has there been any interest or effort to save at least a couple of these for preservation? T.J. Port Huron Museum tjgaffney@phmuseum.org |

And part them from the first C of G diesel by removing them? Hard ethical decision. Will pass your inquiry along to the C of G RHS for disposition. Do you want one in Michigan? Dave irondave@bellsouth.net |

Have heard from those in the know who believe they are still in service there. So far as I know none are in danger. There are some nice C of G woodchip cars approaching the scrap line in Albany GA. What I think is the last C of G riveted tank car was cut up recently while we were working to get permission to move it to the museum. I did save some pieces though. Dave irondave@bellsouth.net |

Didn't realize the first C of G diesel was there, too. Seems that at least one deserves preservation though...... TJ Port Huron Museum tjgaffney@phmuseum.org |
