The Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society's Nickel Plate Road sleeping car made it to Scranton, PA today. Here is a photo of it going through the Delaware Water Gap, the first time it was back on this part of its original route since 1963:
Thanks to Joel Long for the photo. We will be operating trips with this car on the Delaware Lackawanna (DL&W) November 10-11: http://www.eldcps.org/convention.html |

I saw this car arriving in Scranton around 6:30 PM. What a sight at the end of a freight train! The University of Scranton soccer team passing by did not find it at all impressive, but then again, they haven't seen the inside. |

And today it is being switched outside my tower window by a genuine, restored NKP GP-9... |
