This morning at 5:39 am CDT there was an unscheduled reboot of the server which hosts the Interchange. The reboot was required because a hung process was consuming about 80% of available memory, and could not be terminated by any conventional means. This process, curiously enough, was a commercial software product, not open source.

In any case the outage totalled 117 seconds. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

There will be another, brief outage on Wednesday morning at 4 a.m. for about 3 minutes. All of our power to our servers is delivered on 6 20 Amp circuits, and we're changing over to 6 30 amp circuits for increased capacity. The outage will be caused by transitioning the server to our new PDUs (Power Distribution Units).

Regards,
Doug Bailey, CEO
