#11 was sold to The Everett Railroad located in Duncansville, PA near Altoona. It was moved to the shop of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Ridgeley WV across the river from Cumberland, MD for evaluation by WMSRR's steam crew.

The President of the Everett is a regular reader here and I am sure he will share his plans for the #11 with us when he feels ready.

Eric (& Erik) -

Thank you for your interest in the #11. As Erik noted, the locomotive is at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and is worked on whenever the shop isn't tied up with other projects. I believe all the UT readings are done and the next step is to run the calculations. The engine will be getting a new steel pilot beam to replace the existing wood beam, which is an advanced state of deterioration. Once that is done the locomotive can be jacked, the wheels removed, and the tires can be turned.

There is no timetable for any of this. So far the locomotive's overall condition appears pretty good and the WMSR folks have been a fine group to work with. Where and when the engine will operate won't be decided until it's finished.

I had seen the locomotive with some of the members of the New Jersey Museum of Transportation. We were visiting the former owner (one of the three founding members of NJMT 1952) and to do a little speeder run on part of the M&NJ. The locomotive looked to be in very good shape. I am glade she has found a home. Thank you very much for your reply.
