Post subject:  New Paint on USN GE 65ton

Finished before the cold season comes in. This is a GE 65 ton donated to us by Cargill in Cincinnati. We decided to use one of the Navy paint schemes the engine once had. Still some stripes to add.

Several people seem to think the engine is light blue in the photos and have emailed me to see if we had acquired Muncie and Western #7. It isn't blue, it's gray. Fair amount of prep work went into getting all the railing straightened, pilots, and the lower aprons ready. We also had to rebuild one of the two engines when we received the engine.

Nice restoration and paint job. Me and Les Beckman need to
come down an tour the shop sometime and get some tips.
Nice job on the Milwaukee unit also. Invite to come up to
HVRM sometime too and view the tank car WCHX 1114
