-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sadly the 2007 Cass Scenic Railroad Season has now come to an end and as I type this the engines are beginning to be put away. Below is a report of some of the things that will need to be done to the locomotives. Beginning in January I will start to give regular reports on how work is progressing on the engines, as that is when most major work start's. Shay #2 - Need's new tires and some other minor repair's. Shay #4- Need's some minor work to a piston rod and a few other tweeks. Shay #5- Awaiting some paperwork from the FRA on boiler thickness, will be put back together and sat outside under a tarp. Shay #6 - Shay #6 need's the most work. Boiler need's a thickness test and she also need's to be reflued. Hopefully she will be up and running by May. Heisler #6 - Nothing that I am aware of except the usual inspection. Shay #11- Leaking staybolt, cylinder's will need to be removed in order to repair this problem. Heisler #6 wil be outside under a tarp along with Shay #5. I try to have all my information as accurate as possible, so dont get mad if you hear something that I didnt say. LOL |
