Hi Friends,

I just updated Ahead of the Torch http://www.robertjohndavis.com/aott/ with some new items including links to an incredible array of "finder" lists pointing the way to cabooses, locos, depots, mines, mills etc...

Also updated are links to news of the Croton Magnetic mine destruction in NY and about 10 new urban exploration links.

Enjoy!

Rob

Hi Rob,

A fair amount of information in the "Train Caboose" portion of the Waymarking website is missing or erroneous.

It's still has some interesting photos, but eyer beware!

Hi Roger,

Erroneous info is a problem with smaller wiki-like sites. Now if it had quality data like your data combined with user's photos, that would rock!

I've sent about a dozen of the photogs corrections &/or additional information. A few have said they are going to add the info to their photo descriptions. Roger

Speaking of cabeese I passed one wooden specimen in a private backyard in Whitmire, SC yesterday. Have been through before but not when leaves have fallen enough to see it. No herald left painted on. Seems to be a boxcar or other car adjacent to it as well. What are they, Matt?

Hi dave,

Was this at 1398 Coleman Ave.?

If so, it was probably C&O 90848(?)/Allegany Central caboose from Covington, VA.

Cheers, Roger

Dave -

And try to check the boxcar or "other" car if you get the chance.
