Hello,

I don't believe anyone mentioned this in RYPN this past week. St. Pancras is the new station that operates the Eurostar to the channel tunnel. It is called High Speed 1 This was transferred from Waterloo. This will be the first 186 MPH train service in the United Kingdom. It opened on November 14th.

Here are a few videos of the station and event.

The trainshed dates to 1868 and is fully restored.

Once the Welsh Highland is completed I would like to take a trip to the UK. Of course this will include a day trip to Paris since the one-way trip will now only take 2-1/4 hours........amazing.

Regards,

If you dig around, there is a rather good history book of St. Pancras station. This station was always in danger of closing prior to the current new use. The station leads were build through a cemetary and many bodies were uncovered in the tunneling.
