Everyone,

I have been thinking hard about writing brief or and article on the Morehead and North Fork Railroad for all to enjoy. I do not have a way to post the pics for upload at this time.

How is the best format to do this?

Update:

The M&NF is changing rapidly as we speak. The State is widening US 519 and is building a new bridge. All of the equipment that was in the lot is gone as well as all of the trees.

The railroad equipment is still there however and is locked up.

The place looks like it would have if my dream could have become a reality. The mainline was pulled up in 2001 in preparation for the road.

When finished, most of the right of way up Morgan Fork will be driven on.

The equipment is still on the property but it is PRIVATE and folks should ask permission at the Homer Gregory Lumber office.

As much as it saddens me to see "progress", the M&NF will always be special to me. I worked fo 6 years to bring it back from the dead when I should have left the coffin nailed shut. During that time, I did make a lot of friends.

My memories will always be with me and my 1 1/2" scale outdoor railroad will serve me well where I live.

Any suggestions to writing an article will be appreciated. You may PM me if you like or write me here.

Take Care,

JD Johnson, Morehead and North Fork Railroad Historian

Can you scan the photos, or have you done that already? If so, I would recommend Picasa by Google as a place to upload photos onto the web for posting elsewhere, including on here.

Here's the URL: http://picasaweb.google.com/home

It's fairly intuitive, and the first GB is free!
