The Navy (NAVFAC) will probably be advertising in the not to distant future for a recent college engineering graduate with experience in track inspection and track maintenance. This is a civilian position located in Port Hueneme, but this posting IS NOT said advertisement.

What I'm looking for now is suggestions for places to place the actual job announcement. We are already talking to professors at a few Universities that we know have railroading courses, but would like to try and gather suggestions on other useful places to advertise. I'm not sure what, if any budget I'll have to advertise in magazines such as RT&S or Trains, but I'll be looking at that too.

Despite the conventional wisdom not to admit you are a railfan to a Class 1 interviewer, we will certainly be looking for shortline and/or volunteer time for qualifications.

Finally, though this is not a solicitation for employment yet, if anyone wants to send me an unsolicited resume (don't you just love the legalese necessary) I'll be happy to add it to the pile we have from various job fairs.
