A human interest, railroad-centric article with not one cliché or cringe worthy journalistic expression. Very nice.

The story's subject reminds me of a few full-timers who are paid staff in this neck of the woods; these folks don't have the luxury of leaving after a long weekend of running.

After the volunteers return to their homes, families, and jobs, these guys and gals get to dance with preservation's usual assortment of problems (financially, physically, and oh yeah, politically!) for the next five days, and then some!

What a bidness! And they are commendable for putting up with it for more days than some realize.
