Minor adjustments to No 10 necessitated a test firing and run up the line on Saturday. First photo shows No 10 building steam at Sheepscot Mills before the return trip. And later, with snow covered flats at Alna Center No 10 and crew wait for permission to head south. Victorian Christmas is next Saturday, Dec. 22nd. http://www.wwfry.org

Wonderful pictures Steve, and I can't resist mentioning how they "wait for permission to head south" by calling from Alna Center down to Sheepscot Station (1.6 mi) by magneto telephone line. No radios here :-) |

Normally, John, that would be the case, but the dispatcher was aboard the train and we were waiting for permission from the photographer. ;-) |

Besides the WW&F, I believe the Conway Scenic has steam scheduled for selected dates this month, and Doc Kendall's Heisler is running on weekends in Barnet, VT. Other than the cog, is that is for NE steam? Rob |

Santa trains on the Valley Railroad at Essex. I think MNG at Portland is running some too, not sure if they're to be steam-powered. Does Clark's Trading Post still fire up the Lombard in the winter? |

Don't forget the wood burner at Loon ski resort! Here are some of my pictures of this locomotive http://members.fortunecity.com/stolzenfels/loon.html I think that there is another tank engine in New Hampshire that runs in the winter but Im having a brain fart as to where. And I believe Edaville is still using steam but maybe not this year... Matt |

Beautful photos Steve. As a former Operator, I appreciate John's pride in his telephone line. Perhaps a calling for orders shot, with the train posed outside the door or window, could be arranged next time. Happy Holidays. Dave Wilson |
