Image from this past Saturday's Victorian Christmas event at the WW&F Ry Museum in Alna, Maine. Nothing quite like steam in the cold and snow.

Wayne Laepple tipped me that there was some good Youtube video of the plow trains at the WW&F site. I can not view them at home on my dial up so I had to wait until I got to the office today. Steve has provided the link to the museum site in his post. If you want to see some great plowing videos with diesel and steam doubleheaded follow the link to the WW&F page. Then click on the box showing Museum Discussion Forum, then the one saying Museum Discussion. When the topics come up select the one titled Plow Train Pics and just start down the thread looking at the photos and clicking on all the different Youtube links thoughout the thread. You will not be disappointed.

The video of 10 moving 2 snow laden flatcars with a couple of photographers aboard is great. The little engine is barking in the woods like a 4-8-4 until she finally stalls. Museum or not this is real working railroading under these conditions. If your service will allow you to watch these I suggest you do yourself a favor and enjoy them all.
