This has come up before, and I believe there was a group planning to move the car -- but that was a couple of years ago. These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago. Anyone know its status now?

The car is in Lunenburg, MA - not Leominster. I used to direct music at a Church in Lunenburg and drove by it all the time.

The group that was going to move it was the Old Colony and Newport Railway in Rhode Island - but I don't know what happened.

I'll email someone who might know what's going on and report back.

Here is what my "source" said about about the Lunenburg (ex B&M) Coach:
"Yes the Lunenburg coach is still basking in the sun/rain/snow etc. Nothing is going on with it as far as being used in Rhode Island on the Old Colony. The condition of it is deteriorating as we speak. So much so that I doubt it could be moved without breaking apart due to stress on the frame & body."

Sounds like someone else may need to come in to rescue this one. There is (was) another ex-B&M wooden coach in Dracut, MA that had been for sale - anyone know what happened to that one?

I don't know if its too bad... it still has paint! I've seen worse. It would be nice if somebody could save it though before the "locals" put a torch to it.

I wouldn't worry too much about the locals, per se.

The car is in the side yard of a house in a very visible location on a main road. It's a local landmark, of sorts. Plus, the town is fairly small and doesn't have a large population of hoodlums.

The house (and car) were sold about 6 years ago by a local rail enthusiast to a non-rail enthusiast. The new owner (at that time, according to a local story in the paper) was looking to have the car transferred to a museum, etc. Shortly thereafter, there was an announcement that it was going to the Old Colony & Newport in RI.

It looks like those plans are, at best, stagnant. Hopefully the owners of the house still want to see the car preserved.
