Folks, Thank you for your thoughts and ideas here at RyPN. I hope that the New Year brings continued progress in all your preservation projects: steam engines, rolling stock,railroad structures, roundhouses and even some of those Dismal Diesels. TM ted_miles@NPS.gov |

Ted: Some of us are not fortunate enough to have the facilities, money and volunteers to carry out projects involving steam locos, so we do the best we can. My Dismal may not have the pizzazz of a steamer but she is a lot of fun on a tourist RR and just about all I can cope with right now. lamontdc@adelphia.net |

Dave You have my e mail from here; be glad to hear from you if you get to visit San Franciscio! The Hercules is presently in a local shipyard getting her main steam line repaired; it's 16 inches wide by 155' long That's a lot of copper! Ted Miles ted_miles@NPS.gov |

Dave: We are located in Wellington, OH and although the loco is operative it has never moved a train (no ticket yet). For a private switching operation it would be fine, although its 110 ton weight can be a strain on the track. Dave: Just in my travels around Ohio, it's amazing the market that is out there for the small GE loco's. ge13031 @ 110tons & 1000hp is a little to much for most of these guys but it would fit where someone is looking for a SW type.
