WELLSBORO & CORNING RAILROAD SOLD: The Myles Group, an Exton, Pa. based company, has purchased the Wellsboro & Corning Railroad from its owner Dick Robey. The 38 mile shortline, linking Wellsboro, Pa. with Corning, N.Y., was a subsidiary of Robey’s North Shore Railroad. The property on which the railroad operates is owned by Growth Industries of Wellsboro, Pa. In addition, the Myles Group has acquired the Tioga Central Railroad, a tourist passenger train ride that operates over the Wellsboro & Corning Railroad. The Myles Group will continue to operate the tourist train, which during 2007 had a ridership of approximately 20,000. The new railroad is now known as he Corning & Wellsboro Railroad.
