I am helping a local nonprofit museum create a display centered on the history of Benjamin Mayes, a black leader and writer who worked as a Pullman porter to put himself through college. To this end I am looking for artifacts relating to the porters job circa 1920 - specifically defined needs include a set of keys, uniform items, blankets, linens, any other Pullman items that a porter would use every day. There's a small acquisitions budget to work with, but it has to stretch pretty far. Replica stuff is welcome. Please PM me with any ideas as to sources.
