"Pullman" in this story refers to the town of Pullman, WA. I understand that the town was named for the Pullman Car Company. Can anyone supply details to that?

According to their website there are two versions of how it got its name. One of them, and I assume the most widely accepted, is it was changed from "Three Forks" to Pullman in honor of Geo. Pullman hoping to get some endowment money from him.

Her's their website http://www.theleisuresource.com/wa_cities/pullman.htm

Guess it was a slow news day. What someone would want with 1,613 bras, panties and other items is beyond me. I can understand someone swiping the odd pair or two, but 1,613 pieces?
