So whose locomotive was used in some early scenes in the film "Giant"? C&O or N&W? [I realize it was supposed to be a C&O engine.] Anyone know where the scenes were shot? denmeg_hogan@msn.com |

I believe there was an article about this in an issue of R&R a few years back. It was an N&W engine, that had one side painted Chesapeake and Ohio, while the other side had it's rightful N&W paint scheme. I can't remember what the article said about the film location, but im sure someone will come up with something. Hope some of this helps. Hayes Smith Jr. TAMR-Steam Dept. Hayes, I believe that you are correct concerning the R&R article. Wasn't the loco a N&W 4-8-2 that had been refitted with a larger tank off of a C&O loco? So the C&O lettering on the tank WAS correct, sort of! Don C. old_fxrs@msn.com |
