5 minutes ago, I had an epiphany. I read the #1361 report at http://www.steamcentral.com/tut-1361.shtml You remember all those round-about discussions we had a few months back about "museum people" vs "buffs" and whatever else was said? I have come to the decision that it's a heck of a lot easier to be a "museumie" and pontificate than it is to get out there and do something. Call it a new leaf. I also had a few other realizations which I will not share, but dang nabbit. Read that K-4 report. Wow! Rob Davis Faux Milk superc@monmouth.com |

Rob: That's sure a great report on 1361, but it got me wondering- at what point is it cheaper to build a new boiler? It would dang sure have been EASIER to build a new all-welded one from scratch than cutting out 100's of rivets, fabricating and welding in all those patches, partial sheets, etc. and driving in 100's of new rivets. It tires me out to read about it....
