Anyone going to the EMD auction at London, Ontario? Might be the last chance to see the plant while its still intact.

This link will help you go directly to the stuff for sale, I just can't imagine that CAT didn't want to take this stuff with them...

Anyone need some flatcars? Wonder if any of those cars are historically significant?

I suppose that they have already decided or removed what they want to relocate.

While many of us would pounce on "all the goodies," it just might not be economical for Caterpillar/Progressive to pack up and move this stuff. And then bring the stuff across the border (think paperwork, tariff fees, etc.)

The Muncie plant was fitted out with new, state of the art equipment while London was still up and running. When London went out on strike, certain items of production tooling/fixtures were removed and sent to Muncie.

What remained at London was deemed to be expendable.

BTW, viewing the goings on at London was about as exciting as watching paint dry.
