Ran across this very wide angle photo:

Is Schellville in California perhaps? Is this a railroad museum? Is the EMD, and the boxcars, part of that museum (if this is what this is)? Does anyone know the particulars?

Thanks!

Les

Hi Les,

The page says it's in California and, Museum or not, there are either 2 or 3 SP cabooses (1959, 1971, & maybe 1972) at the NWP Schellville Depot which suggests the equipment in the photo is as well.

Cheers, Roger

The diesels are privately owned. It is not a museum. The owner has been working on them at the depot for many years. They have been marooned at Schellville since the FRA shut down the NWP (and since copper thieves stole the wiring off the Brazos Bridge over the Napa River).

Hi Al,

What's the status of the SP cabooses? Did SP 1972 get shipped to Jamestown, CA, as once planned?

Thanks, Roger

Sorry, I don't know. Haven't been to Schellville for several years.
