Assuming she is now back in Altoona, has anyone heard anything about resuming the restoration? There hasn't been much chatter lately that I am aware of. How did the prognosis fair? What conclusions or results did they come up with?

As of last week, all of the pieces were still in Scranton at Steamtown.

To clarify Steamtown Observer's post, the bulk of the K4s' parts are still at steamtown. Many pieces have been shipped to Altoona (I presume) such as the cab, drive wheels, rods and assorted parts. I haven't heard when or how the two main pieces, the tender and the boiler on its frame, will be shipped.

I believe superheater mentioned a few months back that an audit of work and funds is being conducted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. When the museum releases some information on the future status of the locomotive, I am sure we will read many opinion pieces on 1361, here and elsewhere. No need to begin another thread that amounts to fishing for gossip.
