I see that the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum offers pricing in euros for gift shop items. I wonder how much business comes from European markets, and how much effort it is to keep exchange rates current.

Any U. S. A. rail museums trade in foreign curencies in addition to U. S. dollars? Maybe it's a better deal for those "across the pond" to trade only in dollars since the euro and British pound have higher exchange rates.

Even international considerations aside, I'm curious what other small museums and tourist operations use for offering merchandise on-line. I set something up using PayPal for a few items in our gift shop, it has the advantage that its free to set up (just a per transaction charge) and its still on your web page domain, but the html is time consuming to set up for each item being offered. It also doesn't do shipping calculations; only supports a flat shipping fee per item.

Several years ago before PayPal took off, I had tried a paid service. It had two disadvantages: it wasn't cost effective considering the small volumes we deal with, and it was on another domain. It did have the advantages of being easy to maintain (just upload a spreadsheet describing your items) and figured out shipping automatically (based on weight and customer's location relative to you).
