The recent talk about U.S. Army 0-6-0's got me to do a little internet search. Don Ross shows this photo of U.S. Army Alco (built as #4018; s/n 70394) on his website: http://donsdepot.donrossgroup.net/usa614.jpg Don reports that this 0-6-0 (renumbered as 614), shown here in August of 1955, was supposed to be part of the display at the museum there at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Apparently it never happened. Sure would be interesting to know, after being spiffed up, why the locomotive was not put on display. Les |
