I just got the word that Jack White died. Anyone have any details? Besides being a personal loss, this is a huge loss to railroad history.

False alarm, I'm happy to say. My report came from what is normally a highly reputable academic source, but something went awry.

I just spoke with Jack via email last week. He is well but starting to feel his age.
