The season is descending upon is and I was wondering... What's fresh from the shop in 2008? Any sleeper projects out there that are going to surprise us?

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

There is a chance that SP 2472 might see some action...

In addition, the Connecticut Trolley Museum is also working on the Boston Elevated Type 5, 5645 to rebuild the motors to bring that car back into public service. Car 355 of the Fair Haven and Westville Railroad is hoped to be completed this year. It ran a few trips last year, however, it was discovered that more work was needed on the trucks of the car. Car 169 from Brooklyn NY will be undergoing cosmetic restoration and joining 36 in the Visitor Center as well once the car is completed.

Be sure to check out the website at www.ct-trolley.org and click on the restoration link for updates and more information.

The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum will hold a dedication ceremony for its most recently restored car, Pittsburgh Railways 4398 (StLouis 1918), on Friday, May 2. After final testing, it is expected that the car will be in service for the summer season.

Work is progressing well on our Brazilian open car, 1758, and we expect to have it out of the shop late in 2008 and available for the 2009 season.

The RCT&HS plans on completing the restoration of GP-35 3640 either by fall or spring of 09 if all goes well.

Here's one that was completed around the first of December, 2007. Finally got a hold of some pictures over the weekend. Roanoke Chapter NRHS's ex-N&W caboose 518409 received new lower side sheets, exterior repainting, and some interior work last fall.

The photos were taken by Skip Salmon at our Christmas open house on Dec. 15th. Yours truly is decorating the rear platform in the first shot.
