Post subject:  Headlight reflector availability?

Greetings!

We recently had a tender headlight from New York Central 0-6-0 #6627 donated to our museum, the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum. The headlight is in very good condition, however, the reflector is broken in several pieces.

We would like to find a replacement reflector if possible. I know there was rumors of some being made possibly by Strasburg.

Here are the stats on the headlight:

Dressel Headlight with side panels for the locomotive numbers

Reflector:

Diameter- 14.5" (+/o)
Depth- 6"
opening (for bulb) 2-1/4"

Any help or leads would be appreciated. This is a great artifact even with a broken reflector, but it would be nice to find a new one.

Thanks!

Until later,
Chris Hauf

Go check out stainless steel bowls at your local restaurant supply company. I would be willing to bet that one will come close to your size requirements.
