Does anyone have an accurate weight on a 1920s vintage four wheel double equalized solid bearing clasp brake type passenger car truck weight? The car in question is a Pressed Steel Car Co. combine built to NYC specs in 1925 with an 8' wheelbase and 36" wheels. The truck weight is needed for some possible transportation costs. Thanks!

As a starting point, a similar truck for a postwar lightweight car with 6 x 11 axles and cast steel truck frames and bolsters would be in the 8 ton range per truck. A 1920's era 4 wheel truck with 5 1/2 x 10 axles would generally not be as substantial so it may be only 6 or 7 tons per truck.

Comparable NYNH&H 20s era passenger trucks are in the 16,000--17,500 lb weight range per truck. The lighter truck is a fabricated, pressed-steel truck, and the heavier one is a cast-frame, cast-integral pedestal truck. Both are 36" wheels, 8-ft wheelbase. Hope this helps.
