I was just wondering if anyone knew the disposition of a couple of these units. I've been told that the 1689 is in Ohio since the Western Maryland Museum was done with it. I found information that 3 others that were sold to B&K engineering after being sold to Precision National. I've heard of Precision National (loco. dealer?) but not B&K Engineering. Two out of the three locomotives were the famous "Hammerheads" having a high nose with a steam generator and dynamic braking put in there. The Hammerheads would be significant enough for someone to preserve since they are the only ones of their kind. The unit numbers are 1686, 1688, and 1690. I wrote the C&NW board and no one seemed to care or they didn't have an answer. I was wondering if anyone else had any information.
Thanks,
Christopher

>Christopher,
The 1689 is stored on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. The locomotive is owned by B&K Engineering, and was leased to the Northern Central until that road folded.
I don't beleave B&K ever owned the other units but I will look into it and get back with you.

Hope it Helps

The info about the other units being owned by B&K came from Erich Russ' website about the C&NW so it may be wrong information. I would just like to settle my brain. Thanks for the help though.
(I am not affiliated with Erich Russ' just a reference.)
