I collect railroad antiques, and have been after a headlight for quite some time. Recently I've been seeing headlights on ebay marked "Golden Glow". Can anyone give me some details on this company? Were all their headlights from locomotives? I pretty much assumed if I wanted a railroad headlight, it better have a tag reading "Pyle" or "Sunbeam" on it. Any info would be helpful. Thanks. Golden Glow made locomotive headlights. The ones I've seen are of a standard steam locomotive design with side number boards. Seth "Golden Glow" was a trademark of Electric Service Supplies Co. of Philadlephia (ESSCo). Not sure if they're still around or who may have bought them out. Pyle-National was bought by Trans-Lite Co. several decades ago. |

"Golden Glow" refered to the yellow color of the reflector. This was produced in the glass, not in the plating. "Gloden Glow" headlights were used by streetcars as well as locomotives. Brian Norden bnorden49@earthlink.net |
