315/goose/Antonito,& Chama trains 07-04-08

July 4th was a great day on the C&TSRR for railfans. 315 & the Goose running together and both the Antonito & Chama Trains. Osier was busy with all 4 there at the same time.

Gayle from the C&TSRR marketing dept. ask for a variety of photos so they could have choices. I had a couple of friends with me and we decided to find a new location for this special day. We found what we all think will be a great place to get the long shots and the real close ups with out moving. I named it Freeloader Rock. It is as high as you can go above Whiplass Curve and you can see the train as far away as Lava Tank and right below you is 3 layers of track. In the fall when you aren't fighting heat rays and the summer haze it should be a must spot.

Link to the photos ( Part #1 ) Osier photos later ( Part #2)

Roger,

Thanks for sharing. Your photos are fantastic! I really wish my travels could have brought me out there this summer.

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.
