463 and 497 are in one bay; 484 and 488 in the other. 463 has some flues pulled in order to get at a broken stay. 497 is getting some staybolts fixed and truck problems attended to. The big effort at the moment is to get 484 back on the line. She'll have a complete boiler and running-gear overhaul. New CMO Steven Butler and the shop crew, are hustling! > Any chance of O-Y ( or O-M ) being operated > to open the line this year ? Back in August when the weather wizards were predicting a heavy winter, we all thought that OY might be needed in the spring. Now it's January. We have barely 2 feet of snow on Cumbres Pass. Unless we get some major snow this spring, we'll not only not see OY; they'll be hauling water up the hill to put out fires and fill the tanks. We are in a major drought.
