I knew there was a different whistle on 425 on the Tunkhannock to Jim Thorpe Trips, does anybody know where it was from. It sounded a little like the Lehigh Valley whistle used in 1995 or 1996.

I read on another board that the whistle is from BC&G #4. But I've yet to hear who owns it.

The whistle is own by Shane Fredrickson, which was the engineer for most of the trips.
Here's video from that trip.

The bell is off a Reading G-3, the head light is off a Lackawanna 4-8-4, and they had the number plate made special.

What do you think of the video?

That wasn't that whistles first journey through the Lehigh Gorge. It was on most excursions run by Quakertown & Eastern Railroad in the late 1960's and early 1970's. The locomotive was Q&E #4 (ex-BC&G #4), a 2-8-0. Several trips wre run through the gorge on their way to destinations such as Coxton, Pittston and Wilkes-Barre. Most trips originated on the Lehigh Valley Railroad in Bethlehem. Other Roads used included the Reading, Lehigh & Hudson River and Penn-Central.
