In New Zealand. The former are American-built Rogers 2-4-2s, dumped as rip-rap in the 1930s, dug out in the 1980s and restored to operation, pretty amazing. Were those Rogers engines built stateside (namely Paterson) or were they built in NZ? They are gorgeous! I saw a fireman with a scoop; are they coal fired or wood? |
