I'm going back a while here, but I believe that I read that they wanted this engine to go to Baltimore in 2003?? How is progress going, last I heard the superheaters were being removed, haven't heard any updates in quite a while. While I'm on the topic, are there any other large ATSF engines undergoing restoration currently? b.hume@rogers.com |

Colorado Boiler of Denver inspected the engine, and reported that remaining boiler-work, which includes superheaters will cost much less than initial estimates, a boon for the grant-writing/funding process. Renovation of engine accessories [feedwater heaters, injectors, compressors, et al] is complete. That's the latest from the most recent issue of PL&RHS Newsletter.
