Again can't read the number, but V&T 11,12 or 22, apparently on a short excursion on WP trackage, 1949. Details anyone? http://cgi.ebay.com/1949-WESTERN-PACIFI ... otohosting |

I think that's the 22. The 12 is the Reno, IIRC. |

The "Genoa" was number 12 of the V&T. It was owned for years by the Pacific Coast Chapter of the R&LHS and is now in the California State RR Museum. The 22 is the "Inyo." and is now at NSRM. From the CSRM website: Quote: The locomotive remained in storage until 1939 when, after sale to the Eastern Railroads Presidents' Conference, it left for the East Coast to begin a two-year career in excursion and display service. The Genoa was modified to represent Central Pacific's No. 119 Jupiter for performances in the Golden Spike scene at the pageant "Railroads on Parade" during the New York World's Fair (1939-1940). It also operated at the Chicago Railroad Fair in 1948. After the Chicago fair, ownership was transferred to the Pacific Coast Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society which in turn presented the locomotive to the State of California in 1969.
