As secretary of the Alexander Chapter-NRHS, I wanted to thank this forum and those who help make it exist and go, as well as the New Jersey Museum of Transportation. Our chapter has been carefully and painstakingly restoring Lawndale boxcar #315, and we have utilized an unbelieveable amount of help and suggestions in our work. When the car is complete very soon, it will indeed be something to be proud of. As we look to expand the collection and build the North Carolina Narrow Gauge Museum, we contacted the NJMT at Allaire State Park from contacts on this list and inquired about the availability of ET&WNC boxcar #434. After several conversations, NJMT has graciously donated the car to the chapter for restoration and covered display with the Lawndale car, and we are targeting Oct 12 for the date of the move from NJ to NC. This would have all been much harder without the RYPN to facilitate the making of contacts and communication- so once again- Thanks. And a request... Does anyone have any contacts/experience with a kindly CHEAP, but experienced trucker that enjoys driving the interstate from NJ to NC? Ok. I know. But I had to ask. Thanks again, Matt Bumgarner |

Matt, check with J Supor in Kearny, NJ. They just moved SR 385 to Whippany and are specialists in moving oversized stuff. http://www.jsupor.com/home.html I talked to Georgia Renhart and she was the one who let me and my two sons get some pics of 385 in their yard. grenkart@jsupor.com |
