Post subject:  Cole Trailing Truck information needed

Hi

I am working on a building a CNW J class Mikado in 1/8 scale. I have a good number of drawings made from the originals.

But I am having trouble finding information on the Cole Trailing Truck. The locomotive I what to model used a flat frame design.

I have been able to find a lot of information on the vertical frame truck that used angle or channel as the frame.

I think 975 at the Illinois Railway Museum used the flat frame Cole Trailing Truck. Are there any other preserved locomotives that have the flat frame Cole Trailing Truck?

I am in Florida. If someone is willing to take some detail photographs for me, I will make a donation to their organization.

Thanks

Tim

You didn't say where you are in Florida, but IIRC Atlantic Coast Line 4-6-2 #1504 located at the convention center (former passenger terminal) in Jacksonville has a Cole trailing truck.

Thanks for the information. I am in Tampa.

I was down at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum this past weekend. FEC 153 has a vertical frame Cole trailing truck.

I think ACL 1504 is a USRA Locomotive. If it is it most likely has a vertical frame Cole trailing truck also.
