Was there ever anything built that looked as beautiful as a GG-1. Even standing still they look like speedsters. I feel so fortunate to have seem them in regular operation.

When I was much younger than now, 8-12yrs old in Harrisburg in the '50s, I would see them come in to Harrisburg from the Philly side and get changed out for trains heading west. May Grandfather worked at Harrisburg and would take me down to the yards and station with him. I think the GG1s are one of the best looking engines ever made. I especially like the Tuscan Red and gold stripes.

I think those days are what got the train bug in my blood. Thanks Gramps!

Keep your ear to the rail...........something interesting is about to happen.

It does not involved Eric or me directly, but you you will not want to miss it if you are a "G-man"

I live near the Ex. Reading main line now NS.'s Harrisburg Division

Are you referring to the engine 4876 being moved to York, or something else?
