Was there ever anything built that looked as beautiful as a GG-1. Even standing still they look like speedsters. I feel so fortunate to have seem them in regular operation. |

When I was much younger than now, 8-12yrs old in Harrisburg in the '50s, I would see them come in to Harrisburg from the Philly side and get changed out for trains heading west. May Grandfather worked at Harrisburg and would take me down to the yards and station with him. I think the GG1s are one of the best looking engines ever made. I especially like the Tuscan Red and gold stripes. I think those days are what got the train bug in my blood. Thanks Gramps! |
