Post subject:  C&O on UP

Acquired during WWII, the UP had 2-8-8-2s from the C&O and N&W. All were disposed of after 1945, as the 57-inch drivers were too slow for mainline freights. Some of the C&O engines took on a distinctive UP look, but this one was unmodified. Some of the C&O tenders survived longer behind rotary snowplows and as steam generator cars.
