In storage. I seem to recall that this one was supposed to be donated, but the deal fell through and it got scrapped. Details anyone?

It was stored at Ft. Scott, KS for many years, then taken to Springfield, MO and cut up late in the game. I think it was the last steam engine on the property when it was cut up. Darned shame, it was a good engine. I don't know if it was to be donated or not, had never heard that. Frisco did donate 4 of them though. I always wished they had saved some of the engines that they had built at Springfield shops, like a 4300. 4400 and maybe a 4-6-4. Shouldn't grumble though because the Frisco saved quite a few engines for a road their size, including my favorite, 1522.
