When still in storage at (St. Louis??). Of course 1522 went to St. Louis Museum of Transport and would eventually operate again. The 4516 went to Sedalia, Missouri and the 4519 was scrapped after supposedly being turned down for donation to another city. Anyone have details?

1522 finished up her Frisco career on the Afton, OK local from what we were able to learn. These engines sat is storage at Ft. Scott until the late '50s when the 4516 and 1522 were shipped out to be cosmetically restored. 1522 was restored at the Lindenwood roundhouse here in St. Louis and presented to the NMOT. When she arrived for restoration, she had footboards on the pilot and tender and had a brakeman's doghouse on the tender. The doghouse was removed and sent to the museum also. I tried to talk them into putting it on the 1621, a Russian 2-10-0, and I'm not sure if it is still there at the MOT or has been sold for scrap. 1522 of course was reborn to see better days.
In service, she didn't make it to St. Louis very often. Springfield, Birmingham, Kansas City and in later years dual service in OK. She made it through here occasionally.
Funny thing, I still have a bunch of my Dad's time slip stubs and was looking to see if he caught her when I found one where he caught the EMD 103 demonstrator east out of Newburg. The 103 was sitting right next to 1522 when we first started on her restoration. I guess that's close, but no cigar.

The doghouse is sitting on the baggage platform of the Barrett Station depot, last time I checked. It matches the one in the photo on 1522's tank. It looks as if it has had some work done to it.

You are right, it would look good on the decapod's tender.
