Considering it has been on display since the 1930s, this train is in excellent condition and well protected. Presuming someone has done restoration work on it in recent years, what are the details?

It was put through the Kentucky Railway Museum shops about 10 years ago. The engine (dummy) and combine are vacuum brake equipped. Quite rare.

To the best of my memory, it was a cooperative effort between KRM and a KRM member who owned an industrial services company.

The locomotive and combine, prior to restoration, were still in a good state of preservation, thanks to spending many years under cover at the park.

Mark, his employees, and some KRM volunteers did a lot of work on the equipment. My best memory is watching them straighten the combine by adjusting the truss rods.

The previous poster is correct, the locomotive and coach are vacuum braked. Not rare in the UK and in other countries, but not ususal in the United States.
