Hi All,
Our journey takes us to Jim Thorpe, PA. where we will be riding behind Reading Blue Mountain & Reading's steam locomotive No. 425. Our trip takes us to Pittston, PA. and return to Jim Thorpe.
This trip was a bit different because of Tropical Storm Hanna, that was coming up the east cost. But 425 and the help of an SD-50 No. 5049 pulled the train with not to much problems, With wet rails, 425 put on a great show of grace and power. proving to the world that "Steam Is Still King !".
Our Train will be operating over one of the oldest routes in the country. The late Asa Packer's Lehigh Valley Railroad first laid the tracks around Coal Town now known as Jim Thorpe in the 1850's. By 1864, the Lehigh Valley Railroad had extended its trackage north to White Haven. By 1868, the tracks was then extended north through Pittston.
So sit back an enjoy, your journey back in time. All Aboard!

Hope you guy's enjoy.
Len.

Hi All, For who ever couldn't ride behind the R&N 425 trip to Pittston, I'm posting the whole trip on youtube.com
There in parts, and will be at least 20 when done or less. I have had a few people make comments on youtube, to why the whole trip. And that all you see is unchanged landscape, well that might be, but to hear 425 chug along at main line speed is nice enough. And with the wet conditions she really was working hard on some parts of the trip.

Hope your enjoying.
Len.
