Long-scrapped, of course, but has anyone ever heard of this RR? Looks like an ex-SP 4-6-0.

The Mascot & Western was completed in 1915, running from the copper-mining area of Dos Cabezas, Cochise County, Arizona, to the SP connection at Willcox, approximately 14 miles. One source says the mines were played out by the 1930's, another says the railroad was abandoned in 1955. There is a private car from the M&W on display at Willcox.

I think Myrick's books on Arizona railroads are out of print, but there is an article with the interesting title, "The Mascot & Western Railroad: History of a Scam Operation" in Vol. 29 #2 (Fall/Winter 1999/2000) of "The Cochise County Historical Journal", available at http://www.mycochise.com/journal.php#
